Rilsamid® MED Polyamide 12

Rilsamid® polymers are easy to process, using most processing technologies, including extrusion, extrusion blow molding, injection molding and rotational molding.

Continuously developed by Arkema for more than fifty years, Rilsamid® is a reference in the world of performance polyamide 12 (nylon 12). Produced from a renewable source (castor oil), Rilsamid® is used in a large number of applications thanks to its outstanding properties:

  • Excellent resistance to chemicals (particularly hydrocarbons)
  • Wide range of working temperatures [-40°-130°C (40-266°F)]
  • High dimensional stability and low density

Rilsamid® polymers are easy to process, using most processing technologies, including extrusion, extrusion blow molding, injection molding and rotational molding. Rilsamid® MED polymers can be modified to deliver customized performance such as wide range of color, heat and light stabilization, radiopaque fillers, plasticizers, lubricants, impact modifiers, reinforcing fibers, nano particles, etc.

 

Available Medical Grades:
Extrusion

Rilsamid® AESNO MED is a rigid polyamide 12 with high viscosity designed for tube extrusion. This grade is specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the medical applications such as minimally invasive devices.

Injection Molding

Rilsamid® AMNO MED is a thermoplastic polyamide 12. This grade is designated for injection molding and is specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the medical applications such as minimally invasive devices.
